Lawrence Quarry 15/11/11
On 15th November group c went on a trip to Lawrence Quarry, the Peak District. When we first got there we gathered at the top of the Quarry whilst Jed sorted out all the equipment. As we were waiting we all fitted our harnesses and helmets, everyone help each other out.
Rob was the first person to take part in the abseil, he tied himself into the safety rope with a figure of 8 knot. He stood at the edge of the rock face with his feet spread shoulder width apart, and lowered his slef until his bum was level with his feet and they were 90 degrees with the rock face. He ad to walk down the rock face passing the rope through his hands until he reached the bottom. We all took it in turns to do the abseil, i was really nervouse when standing at the top but and had to learn back but when i got to the bottom i wanted to do it again becuase it was really good fun.
